Our Story
But what is it that they say about age and wisdom?
We may not be able to confirm that, but what we can say is that it has given us an appreciation, not just for the finer things, but also for you, our community, our local (and possibly not-so-local!) ever-returning customers.
But for our true ‘origin story’, let's go back to the beginning.
He was just a young fella, about sixteen, when he started gettin the bus fae the country intae the toon tae work in a shap. Suppose you could say that’s where he got the notion o sellin...
It wasne lang before he wanted to gie it a go on his ain, tae write his ain story if you like. He got hissel a wee van and a wheen o pairs o work boots, boiler suits and bib & brace, and off he headed, doon wee country roads and up farm lanes lookin to see who he could deal wi.
The wee garage at the side o the hoose was turned intae a store. Monies a wan – nighber, freen and new freen alike – called for thair wears. Efter a while, his business outgrew that wee garage, so he moved intae a shap in the toon.
That’s where it all began, and we've been on Church Street ever since.
As our story goes on, we hope you folks will continue to join us. We fully realise that we only exist because you folks do, and for that we are eternally grateful (big hugs).
